Sean RoosenSean Roosen

Chair of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Sean Roosen is the Chair of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer of the Corporation. Mr. Roosen was a founding member of Osisko Mining Corporation (2003-2014) and of EurAsia Holding AG, a European venture capital fund. Mr. Roosen has over 30 years of progressive experience in the mining industry. As founder, President, Chief Executive Officer and Director of Osisko Mining Corporation, he was responsible for developing the strategic plan for the discovery, financing and development of the Canadian Malartic Mine. He also led the efforts for the maximization of shareholders’ value in the sale of Osisko Mining Corporation, which resulted in the creation of Osisko Gold Royalties. Mr. Roosen is an active participant in the resource sector and in the formation of new companies to explore for mineral deposits both in Canada and internationally. He serves on the board of directors of Barkerville Gold Mines Ltd., Osisko Mining Inc. and Victoria Gold Corp.  – companies that are part of Osisko’s incubator model.

Mr. Roosen has been recognized by several organizations for his entrepreneurial successes and his leadership in innovative sustainability practices.

Mr. Roosen is a graduate of the Haileybury School of Mines.


Sandeep Singh


Sandeep Singh joined Osisko as President in January 2020. For the fifteen years prior, Mr. Singh was an investment banker in the metals and mining industry where he advised numerous mining companies on growth and financing strategies with Maxit Capital (2014-2020), Dundee Securities (2010–2014) and BMO Capital Markets (2005-2010). As co-founder of Maxit Capital, he was instrumental in building an independent and highly successful advisory firm which acted on some of the most complex and value-enhancing transactions in the mining sector.

Mr. Singh holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree from Concordia University and a Masters of Business Administration degree from Oxford University.


Frédéric Ruel, CPA, CA

Chief Financial Officer and Vice President, Finance

Frédéric Ruel has over 20 years of experience in financial reporting and has been involved in the mining industry for over 12 years. Prior to joining Osisko, he held the position of Director, Corporate Reporting for Canadian Malartic Partnership, Osisko Mining Corporation and Consolidated Thompson Iron Mines. Frédéric began his career as an auditor in a premier Canadian accounting firm where he worked for 7 years. He is a member of the Ordre des Comptables Professionnels Agréés du Québec and holds a Master in Accounting from the Université de Sherbrooke. Frédéric is also involved with other public companies in the mining industry.



Luc Lessard, Eng.

Senior Vice-President, Technical Services

Luc Lessard is a mining engineer with more than 25 years of experience designing, building and operating mines. He was previously Chief Operating Officer of the Canadian Malartic Partnership (owned jointly by Agnico Eagle and Yamana), and prior to that was the Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President of Engineering and Construction for Osisko Mining Corporation where he was responsible for the design, construction and commissioning of the world class Canadian Malartic gold mine. During his career, Mr. Lessard has worked on 11 open pit and underground mine builds and prior to Osisko, Mr. Lessard was Vice President of Engineering and Construction for IAMGOLD and General Manager, Projects for Cambior Inc. Mr. Lessard sits on the Board of Directors of the following publicly listed companies – Nighthawk Gold Corp., Falco Resources Ltd. and Osisko Metals Incorporated.


Benoit Brunet, CPA

Vice President, Business Strategy

Mr. Benoit Brunet joins Osisko from the Québec Private Equity group of the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (the “Caisse”), one of the largest North American institutional investor where he helped deploy $700 million in the mining sector across the province of Québec.  He was overseeing investments totaling approximately $1.5 billion and known for having structured innovative financial instruments for some of the largest mining projects in the region.  Prior to joining the Caisse, Mr. Brunet worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP for the assurance group in Montréal. Mr. Brunet holds a CPA designation, an undergraduate and graduate degree in public accounting from the Université du Québec à Montréal.


Guy Desharnais, Ph.D., P.Geo.

Vice President, Project Evaluation

Mr. Desharnais joined the Technical Services team of Osisko Gold Royalties in 2017 and was appointed Vice President, Project Evaluation in August 2020. After completing his Ph.D. in geochemistry and igneous petrology, Mr. Desharnais worked five years as an exploration geologist with Xstrata Nickel (Glencore). He worked as a Qualified Person and manager of SGS Geostat for seven years. He led the team that won the Integra Gold Rush Challenge in 2016 ($500k). He was named Distinguished Lecturer by the CIM in 2017 and is an active member of the Mining Technical Advisory and Monitoring Committee for the Canadian Securities Administrators and the “Comité Consultatif du Secteur Minier” for the “Autorité des Marchés Financiers”.


Iain Farmer, M.Eng., CFA

Vice President, Corporate Development

Mr. Iain Farmer has been involved in the mining industry for 9 years having most recently served as Director of Evaluations for Osisko where his responsibilities included financial and technical evaluation of investments as well as origination and execution of transactions.  Prior to joining Osisko, Iain worked in equity research covering the mining sector.  Iain holds a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Mining Engineering from McGill University as well as an MBA from Concordia University’s Goodman School of Investment Management, he has been a CFA Charterholder since 2016.


André Le Bel, LL.B., B.Sc.A.

Vice President, Legal Affairs and Corporate Secretary

André Le Bel has been appointed as Vice President of Legal Affairs and Corporate Secretary of Osisko on February 17, 2015. From November 2007 to June 2014, Mr. Le Bel was Vice-President of Legal Affairs and Corporate Secretary of Osisko Mining Corporation. Mr. Le Bel was Vice President Legal affairs with IAMGOLD Corporation from November 2006 to October 2007 and before November 2006, Mr. Le Bel was Senior Legal Counsel and Assistant Corporate Secretary of Cambior Inc. Mr. Le Bel is also a director and a member of the audit committee of RedQuest Capital Corp., a capital pool company listed on the TSX Venture Exchange. He is also a director of Ressources Komet inc. and Corporate Secretary of Falco Resources Ltd. He was also a director of Threegold Resources Inc. from May 2011 to June 2013.


Michael Spencer

Managing Director, Osisko Bermuda Limited

Michael joined Osisko Bermuda Limited as Managing Director in 2017. Prior to Osisko, Michael spent over seven years in mining focused investment banking where he advised on a wide array of M&A advisory and financing transactions representing over $10 billion in value. Prior to investment banking, Michael worked for an independent consulting firm advising medium to large cap corporations on a variety of executive compensation and corporate governance related matters. Michael obtained an Honours Business Administration degree with distinction from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario.


François Vézina, P.Eng., MBA

Vice president, technical services

François Vézina is a Mining Engineer with over 17 years of experience in mining and has extensive experience in open pit and underground operations in Canada, Mexico and Finland.

Mr. Vézina was Technical Service Manager for Agnico-Eagle Mines Limited and was responsible for overseeing the completion of the feasibility studies of LaRonde II, Pinos Altos and Kittilä. Mr. Vézina participated in the construction and commissioning of Pinos Altos as Mine Development Manager and Kittilä as Mine Operations Manager before joining OMC and participating as Mine Manager in the construction of the Canadian Malartic Mine. He served for over 5 years as Mine Operations Manager at the Canadian Malartic mine. Mr. Vézina is a specialist in mine operation optimization and is recognized for innovative mining techniques and optimization of feasibility studies.

Mr. Vézina holds a Bachelor degree in Mining Engineering and a Master in Business Administration (MBA). He is a registered Engineer (Eng.) in Quebec and (P.Eng.) in Ontario.
